1. Prepare the Dough
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter with a pastry cutter (or fingertips) until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- In a small bowl, whisk eggs and milk, then stir into the flour mixture.
- Bring dough together, divide into two equal parts, wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
2. Make the Apple Filling
- In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and flour.
- Let sit for 10 minutes so the juices start to release.
3. Assemble
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 15×10-inch jelly roll pan (or similar).
- Roll out one piece of dough to fit the bottom of the pan, pressing into corners.
- Spread apple filling evenly over the dough.
- Roll out second piece of dough and place over the apples. Trim edges and seal by pinching lightly.
- Poke a few holes in the top crust with a fork for steam to escape.
4. Bake
- Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until golden brown and apples are tender.
- Let cool slightly.
5. Glaze
- Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Drizzle glaze over warm (not hot) apple slices.
- Cool completely before cutting into squares or rectangles.
