- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Prepare the Dough:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in cold butter until mixture looks like coarse crumbs.
- Stir in milk until a soft dough forms.
- Fill and Roll:
- Roll the dough into a rectangle (about ¼-inch thick).
- Spread softened butter evenly over the dough.
- Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll up jelly-roll style and slice into 8–10 rolls. Place them in a greased baking dish.
- Make the Sauce:
- In a saucepan, heat milk, sugar, butter, and vanilla just until butter melts and sugar dissolves (don’t boil).
- Pour the warm sauce evenly over the rolls in the baking dish.
- Bake:
- Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes, or until rolls are puffed, golden, and the sauce has thickened into a pudding-like base.
Serving:
Serve warm, spooning some of the sweet buttery sauce over each roll. They’re perfect on their own or topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
