Description

Pecan Pie Cobbler is the best of both worlds: the rich, caramelized filling of classic pecan pie combined with a soft, cake-like cobbler topping. As it bakes, a sweet pecan sauce forms underneath, creating a warm, spoonable dessert that’s pure Southern comfort.

Ingredients

Cobbler Base

Ad
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Pecan Filling

  • 1½ cups packed brown sugar
  • 1½ cups pecan halves
  • 1½ cups hot water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven
    • Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F).
    • Pour melted butter into a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Make the Batter
    • In a bowl, whisk flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
    • Stir in milk and vanilla until smooth.
    • Carefully pour batter over the butter without stirring.
  3. Add the Filling
    • Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over the batter.
    • Scatter pecan halves on top.
    • Slowly pour hot water over everything — do not mix.
  4. Bake
    • Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes, until the top is golden and the center is set but still gooey underneath.
  5. Cool & Serve
    • Let cool for 10–15 minutes before serving.

Serving Suggestions

  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
  • A drizzle of caramel sauce takes it over the top.
  • For extra depth, add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the batter.

Pro Tips

  • Toast the pecans first for a deeper, nuttier flavor.
  • This dessert thickens as it cools but stays luxuriously gooey.
  • Perfect for make-ahead entertaining — just reheat gently.
